On Inauguration Day, President Donald Trump issued an executive order to remove gender identity from
federal policy. It was the first of many actions the Trump Administration has taken in an effort to erase and
silence LGBTQ+ Americans—while stripping away equal rights and protections for all.
Over the last 12 months, the Human Rights Campaign has been closely tracking the toll the Trump
Administration’s actions have taken on LGBTQ+ Americans.
